Must-To-Be-Done Health Checks for Children



It is the responsibility, of the elder family members to ensure that health checks of all their family members is being conducted regularly. Kids are a bundle of joy. It is said that anyone who does not like kids, lacks a heart. One should give special attention to the little angels. Here are few of the health checks that you can consider which will help you take good care of your children.  

According to doctors, children who are about to enter the so called ‘big school’ should have completed most of the available vaccines and medical examinations.

DPT or diptheria, pertussis, tetanus, MMR or measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, polio, Hepatitis A and B, typhoid, pneumonia and meningococcal diseases are the minimum requirements for every childhood vaccines. Hearing screening and vision screening can also be conducted.

Many doctors even recommend comprehensive examination which may include chest X-ray, complete blood count, tuberculin examinations, blood pressure check, respiratory check, body temperature variations, so on and so forth. Also, nutritional assessment like weight and height along with psychosocial and development examinations of kids should be done.

One should regularly take their kids to the doctor to ensure that they remain fit and healthy. Males in their adolescent stage should get cervical cancer vaccine as they have the chances of transmitting the virus sexually. Teens or younger kids should be assessed by doctors at regular interval of times, to judge their psychosocial problems. The psychosocial issues may be sex, smoking, alcohol or drugs. These are grave concerns. These problems, if not stopped at the early stage can become regular habits.

Flu vaccinations are something that no family can afford to ignore. With growing awareness more and more people are becoming aware of this H1N1 scare. The government takes necessary pains to conduct seasonal flu vaccines each year. If the common people don’t take heed towards it then no one else is to be blamed. Bear in mind, in case your kids get affected by flu they will be in a sorry state of affairs. Apart from the huge monitory expense that will be incurred, the pain and agony that your kid will have to put up with will not be a pleasing experience.

Hence, the best thing is to make up a little amount of time and visit the doctor. One should listen to what the doctor advices.
